Our Story
For more than 25 years, Joubert Homes has built high-quality custom homes with craftsmanship that lasts. In 2020, company co-founder, Chuck Bower, trained and became certified in Passive House construction—and everything changed. Experiencing the airtight envelope, advanced filtration, and extraordinary comfort firsthand, our team pivoted, and Passive House became Joubert’s future.
After the Marshall Fire tore through communities in Colorado, we helped families rebuild to the Passive House standard, prioritizing air quality, energy performance, and resilience. That work reshaped us—technically and personally—and positioned Joubert as one of the nation’s leading single-family Passive House builders.
Our roots run to California, too. After the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, the need for healthier, fire and smoke-resilient homes was urgent and undeniable. A widely shared CBS Evening News story (link provided) underscored what we’d seen in the field: Passive House building technology—airtight construction, multi-pane tempered glazing, fire-resistant cladding, and low-leakage roof assemblies—can make a meaningful difference. We chose to show up.
Today, Joubert Homes is helping Los Angeles homeowners to rebuild better. We bring a proven Passive House approach that delivers year-round comfort, dramatically lower energy use, and robust protection against fire and smoke intrusions—plus the quiet, clean indoor air people feel the moment they step inside.
We started as builders. We’ve become partners in resilience—crafting homes that protect what matters most and perform beautifully, every day.
Build better. Breathe easier.
